19th Century Revival Songs Book Set
19th Century Revival Songs Book Set
Two little books with Ira D. Sankey's revival songs in Dutch. Both books are from the 19th century, 1881 and 1875.
M. S. Bromet, the name on the title page of the "Opwekkings-Liederen" (Revival Songs), refers to Meier Salomon Bromet (1839-1905). He was the publisher and compiler of this songbook in 1875.
Ira D. Sankey's (1840-1908) revival songs are hymns and spiritual songs he composed or popularized during revivals with Dwight L. Moody. His work was influential in congregational singing during the revival movement of the late 19th century. This little book was published by the bookseller Höveker & Wormser in Amsterdam.
No pages are missing in both books, but as you can see some pages are in bad shape. That's what you get after 150 years.
