Beautiful bronze plated medallion of Our Lady of Pellevoisin, mounted in an Art Nouveau style with slight gothic revival influence. The medal is inscribed with "Mère de Miséricorde" - Mother of Mercy and "Pellevoisin", Mary's apparitions to Estelle Faguette in France in 1876. Signed by the original artist Oscar Ruffony. An Italian-born artist who was active in France during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. His work often features high-relief (repoussé) metalwork and distinctive Gothic or floral architectural frames.
