People's Missal and Vesperal (Volksmisboek en Vesperale) containing all the masses and prayers of the Roman Missal, edited by the Benedictines of Affligem Abbey. Decorated with 28 original prints by Jos Speybrouck (1891 -1956). He was active as a painter, draftsman and illustrator. He studied at the Academy of Kortrijk and the Sint-Lucas School in Ghent. Jozef created numerous nationalist and religious works. He was also a member of the Pilgrim Movement. In 1952, he also designed costumes for the Procession of the Golden Spurs. Speybrouck was also a drawing teacher at the Academy of Tournai. This book has 8 tiny tears, no missing pages or prints.
